Science World, GDC British Columbia and Spicers Paper teamed up to build a sculpture based on the East Van Cross to help build awareness for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, an organization that serves 26,500 people every week.
My role on this project included creating the final design, selecting and estimating the number of cans required, and helping to both assemble and disassemble the final sculpture.
The final sculpture, on location at Pacific Centre.
The structural integrity of the sculpture relied on plexi, zap straps, and double sided tape.
Our team received the 2016 CANstruction Architects Award.
The sculpture was built out of approximately 2,784 cans of tuna, and would not have been possible without the help of a sizeable team of people across all three organizations.
